Just curious to know if there is any solid timeline on the release of this version.

We are getting close, but this is a major release and we want to make sure everything is done just right. We may rename it 2.0 instead of 1.70 because so many exciting new features are going to be in it. We will announce it in the Product Updates section when we submit to Apple.
