I have two players listed on roster which are actually the same player. Is there a way to merge players so that all stats show correct.

yes , in player manager at bottom of screen is a "merge" button for just this purpose. click and follow instructions (e.g highlight player on right to merge into player on left etc)

Sorry but I see no button for merge. I see one in the baseball app but no merge button in football.
